St. Louis Regional Census Convening
Making the 2020 Census Count for Our Region
Friday, May 31, 2019
7:30-8:30am Breakfast & Registration
8:30-12:00pm Convening
The census is our most reliable source of population information. It is used to ensure states are being fairly represented, both in the allotment of federal dollars as well as the number of congressional districts. The federal funds driven by census estimates go toward programs aimed at supporting our infrastructure and communities.
The 2020 Census faces several challenges that could prevent an accurate and complete count, including reliance on new technology, planning delays, and the possible addition of the citizenship question. Philanthropy has an important role to play in helping to ensure a fair count, and there are multiple ways to engage.
Please join us for the St. Louis Regional Census Convening to learn more about the 2020 Census and its impact on our region. Hear from regional business and nonprofit leaders, as well as representatives from St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles. Our featured speaker will be United States Census Bureau Regional Director Marilyn Sanders.
