What We Fund

Marillac Mission Fund is a St. Louis-based charitable foundation that supports and partners in efforts to care for and encourage the wellbeing and dignity of people experiencing poverty through funding grants, community engagements, research, and advocacy. 

Focus Areas for Funding

We provide funding for organizations and projects that align with the following five focus areas, as well as Advocacy & Coalition-Building within those focus areas:

Older Adults Living Independently

Supporting programs for those who are low-income or cost burdened and wish to live in their own homes as long as possible.

Immigrants & Refugees

Supporting programs that improve the health and well-being of immigrants and refugees through access to transportation, employment, language services, mental health care, and legal representation.

Rural Well-Being

Supporting the well-being of rural residents through direct interventions that improve mental health, address disordered substance use, strengthen a sense of belonging, increase community participation, and ultimately enhance quality of life.

Human Trafficking Prevention

Support for holistic and collaborative efforts to respond to and prevent the exploitation of young people.

Advocacy & Coalition-Building

Supporting initiatives that lead to systemic, long-lasting change with wide-reaching impact on populations in our focus areas.

Improved Economic Mobility

Invitation-only funding opportunity designed to sustainably improve the economic position of individuals, families, and communities throughout the St. Louis region, ensuring they are best situated to thrive.

Methods of Providing Funds

 

Responsive Grants

We provide Responsive Grants in two funding cycles- Spring and Fall. Applicants may select from two types of support: program/project or general operations.

Capacity Building

The Capacity Building Program supports improvements in key organizational functions within nonprofits aligned with MMF.
